A famously generic way to avoid answering. 「精査してまいります」 即答を避け、時間を稼ぐための常套句 "We will examine this carefully." A stock phrase that buys time without committing. 「誤解を招いたのであれば」 謝罪の形を取りつつ非を認めない言い回しとされる "If this caused misunderstanding..."
