Mr. S.P. ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
SOLAMALAI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
Established in 1995, Solamalai College of Engineering (formerly Raja College of Engineering and Technology) became part of the Solamalai Group on January 24, 2016. The Solamalai Group, a renowned brand in Madurai, has evolved since its inception in 1962 as a single lorry operator, now boasting diversified business operations across TamilNadu. The group excels in FMCG distribution, C&F services, goods trucking, passenger transportation, infrastructure, and cinema exhibition, supported by a capable team of over 1500 employees.
Solamalai College of Engineering is an autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In October 2023, the college received accreditation from NAAC with "A" Grade, achieving a CGPA of 3.21 out of a 4-point scale. The 55-acre green campus, situated within Madurai city, is home to 75 faculty and 25 non-teaching staff members dedicated to providing quality education in line with industry 5.0-enabled curriculum.
The institution offers a diverse range of academic programs, including 9 Undergraduate programs and 4 distinctive Post Graduate programs. Notably, it is the sole self-financing engineering college in Tamil Nadu offering a specialized postgraduate program in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering. To enhance students' knowledge, the college has collaborated with various professional bodies like ICT academy, CSI, IEI, IWA, MMA, and ISTE, conducting value-added programs on emerging technology to bridge the gap between industry and academia.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
Established in June 7, 1984, as Seethaiammal Polytechnic College underwent a change in management, being taken over by Solamalai Group in 2016 named Sri Solamalai Polytechnic Colleg. Since then, the institution has operating successfully. In alignment with the norms set by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Directorate of Technical Education, TamilNadu, the college offers courses in Computer Science and Engineering. Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering & Mechanical Engineering.
The institution prioritizes effective teaching and training, resulting in notable achievements such as a final year Mechanical student winning a gold medal in the Inter Polytechnic Athletic Association. The Training and Placement Cell aims for 100% student placements, focusing on presentation skills, academic quality, and technical proficiency. On-campus and off-campus drives secured placements for 110 students in reputed companies.

We offer comfortable hostel facilities for students. Since an ideal hostel must be, in essence, a home away from home, the facilities offered here are designed to provide a sense of belonging, security, and care, as well as a spirit to find dependence within reasonable limits. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The management will be prepared to set up the facilities for the students' comfort if they require an air-conditioned individual room.
